FPAK (Portuguese National Karting Federation): The worst of them all…

About a month ago, FPAK released the information that all drivers who want score points to the coming 2008 Portuguese Karting Championship will have to pay the inscription fee to all the 5 events in advance.

All the details and prices have now been published and they reveal a big increase when compared to last year's fees.

To put it briefly, any driver who wants to participate will have to pay 1600 euros in March, corresponding to 320 euros per event (5 events).

This is an 18.5% increase.

Any driver wanting to participate only in a single event will have to pay 420 euros.

It will also be possible to pay part of the 1600 in March (640 euros) and the rest in May.
The thing is that drivers who choose to pay this way will have to pay 1000 euros of "promotion tax" which will be returned at the end of the year.

So, if one hasn't got the 1600 euros available to pay in March, one can choose to pay 1640 euros instead!!

I really hope that no drivers will show up at all.
